The Magic of K V Thrissur

Here is something to get you going!

The Magic of KV Thrissur

An evening walk in the school campus is refreshing.
The play ground, with the inclining rays of the evening sun, seems to beckon you for a stroll.
Surrounded by trees and shrubs on the western end of the boundary wall that scales the entire ground is a wide expanse of land that is darker and cooler than the rest of the surrounding world at any given time of the day. It's a host for numerable birds and animals.
For visitors who would care to step in on school days , Kendriya Vidyalaya Thrissur stands mighty and teeming with infinite vigour at the foothills of the Villangan.
Bursting at the seams with over crowded classrooms - tiny tots filing past in lines to and from the various class rooms, the jam packed assembly hall, teachers rushing by after every screech of the electronic bell that is pre-set to discharge its duty every 40 minutes - K V Thrissur has been held in great awe for churning out success after success every year in academics, sports and extra curricular activities.
But for souls who decide to stay back after the crowd has exited, KV Thrissur campus is a different magic altogether. The flora and fauna reveal themselves in yet another hue in the evening after the day's bustle is done.
Devoid of the school children, the cries of the peacocks and the calls of the cuckoos become more and more daring. The peacocks even dare to venture out and spread their feathers. You would be very lucky if you could see them dance; but more often than not they can be seen trotting away shyly as they sense approaching human steps.
The school playground and the campus have been witness to triumphs, tears, toils and heartbreaks a million times for those who have walked their toddling steps here.
As my stroll is through, the sight of the nostalgic school playground with the sun hurrying to light up the world on the other side, drains the last ounce of my energy. The last day of March is too exacting. It's the end of an academic year. It looks like you are through with a whole year's work. You can keep any other day's work for the next day. But you better not stretch this deadline. And at the end of it all one feels like having just witnessed the last scene of a very long Hindi movie where finally 'the end' shows up.
But as I prepare to wind up the day; the shrill, full throated call of the cuckoo advertising for its mate as it speeds away overhead tells me that it's not the end. The night still in its youth remains high and will be teeming with life and the unfathomable desire to live.
And I realize that the next working day is yet another day in the annals of the history of K V Thrissur. It's the beginning of an academic year that will set forth the tone for an entire year of tireless striving.
May our lives be filled with magic - the magic of K V Thrissur.
